Batman is uncertain where Mr. Freeze has gone, but a logical place to look is the museum’s Arctic exhibit.

When he reaches the large hall, though, it is quiet. The middle of the room features a circular display of a glacier. A pool of water surrounds it. Two lifelike stuffed polar bears are perched on the fake ice.

There is no sign of Mr. Freeze.

Batman is about to leave when he hears a low grumble from behind him. The rumbling sound increases until it is a loud roar.

The hairs on Batman’s neck rise as the hero turns to see the two polar bears — the ones he thought were part of the exhibit — leaping toward him!

When Mr. Freeze lived in the Arctic, he took in two polar bears as pets. Their names are Notchka and Shaka. It seems the two protective animals have joined their master on his latest trip to Gotham City.

One of the bears swipes at Batman with its enormous paw. The Dark Knight narrowly avoids its attack. As he turns to flee, he sees the second bear blocking the exit.

He is trapped.

The first polar bear lunges and snaps its jaws. Batman rolls backward, striking the wall. He is pinned, with nowhere to go.

Both bears advance on him. In his Utility Belt, Batman has a projectile net large enough for the creatures. But is there anything else that may work?
